By Marie W.O.W.C.P.
When people first meet me, one of the first things they often notice is my walker.
They notice how I move.
They notice the pace of my body.
They notice the physical challenge before they notice the woman standing behind it.
For a long time, that used to bother me.
Because while the walker is part of my life, it is not who I am.
Behind the walker is a woman with dreams.
A woman with strength.
A woman with fears, joy, love, and resilience.
A woman who has had to learn how to see herself beyond what the world notices first.
There is so much more to me than what helps me move through this world.
I am a writer.
A dreamer.
A woman still becoming.
And I want people to see the whole woman, not just the visible challenge.
