By Marie W.O.W.C.P.

There was a time in my life when I measured myself by the things I thought I might never have.

The white dress.

The children.

The traditional life story.

For a long time, those were the things I believed defined what a “full” life was supposed to look like.

And because my life did not follow that path, there were moments when I felt like I was falling short.

Like I had somehow missed something important.

Like I was behind in a way I could not catch up to.

But as I have grown older, I have started to see something differently.

I may not have built the life I once imagined.

But I did build a life.

A strong one.

A meaningful one.

A life filled with resilience.

A life built on independence.

A life where every step forward took courage.

The life I built may not look traditional.

It may not match the picture I once had in my mind.

But that does not make it any less valuable.

It does not make it any less beautiful.

Because this life…

This life is mine.

It was built through challenges.

Through growth.

Through moments where I had to choose to keep going, even when things felt uncertain.

And there is something powerful in that.

Something real.

Something that no one can take away.

Sometimes we spend so much time focusing on what we did not get…

that we forget to recognize everything we created.

Everything we became.

Everything we overcame.

And maybe that is what this part of my journey is teaching me.

That the life I built deserves just as much love as the life I once imagined.

Seeing the beauty between the challenges.
